Commission suggests health insurance boost

NEW DELHI: The Wage Committee has
recommended introduction of a wellness coverage strategy for employees and
pensioners. The strategy would be available on voluntary footing topic to paying
the prescribed contribution. Contributions would be based on the
actual insurance premium paid. Group A, Type B and Degree Centigrade employees would lend 30%, 25% and
20% of the yearly insurance premium respectively with the authorities paying the remainder. The strategy have been recommended for authorities employees other than
those workings in railways. However, railroads and defence, who have got their own
medical infrastructure, should also invent a similar strategy for their employees,
the study suggested. The committee said the coverage strategy would
be mandatory for authorities employees who fall in service after the introduction
of the strategy while new people would automatically acquire covered. The new recruits and pensionaries will consequently not be provided
CGHS or such as facilities. The new recruits and new people may be paid an
appropriate amount for meeting their OPD outgo till the clip an insurance
scheme for providing OPD installations is devised.
